Dinner at the Zeche Zollverein on Wednesday, September 11th 2002.
Zeche Zollverein started operations in 1932, It has a special architecture and had the most up to date equipment of the time. In this period Zollverein in Essen was the largest coal mining and processing plant in the world. The plant finished its operations in the coal business in 1986 and some of the machinery was dismantled and the entire area was reconstructed as an industrial monument. Most of the buildings and the remaining machines are still in place and can be visited.
The excellent four course dinner will accompanied by classical background music. The cathering company is well known in the Ruhr area for its excellent food - among others, they serverd the EU-Minister-Conference in Essen.

The dinner will start at 20:00 and a second bus transfer from the University parking area to Zeche Zollverein will be provided from 19:30 to 19:45 for those who do not take part in the tour. After the dinner a bus transfer back to the major hotels (Astoria, Rema, Ambassador, Express by Holiday Inn, Arosa, Jung)and the City Center will be provided from 22:30 to 0:00 so that everybody can get back easily.

Registration: Note, you have to register for the dinner. Registration includes all beverages as well as the bus transfers!
